"Eco-education" is a general understanding of the problem of greening, as well as the spiritual and material activities of society. Modern technology, as well as the large consumption of natural resources, are significantly prone to human relations with nature. It is treated that only eco-education and upbringing are the so-called "strong weapon" in modern society in the fight against environmental threats, as well as the stimulation of environmental awareness itself. In the formation of the ecological culture of modern man, he plays an important role in the system of ecological upbringing and education. Ecological consciousness does not consist only of knowledge, but also of emotional-volitional components, which is very important above all, because knowledge without belief and practical activity means nothing. Man's attitude towards the environment (nature) is closely related to the ecological knowledge he possesses. The educational process in the function of protection and improvement of the environment is a conscious and planned development of knowledge about the human environment throughout life, which aims to develop awareness of the basic characteristics of the human environment, ie. relations in it, as well as relations towards it, on the basis of which man will strive to preserve and improve the environment.The more efficient eco-education is, the more it will represent the future in the development of offspring, as well as in terms of the quality itself in preserving the environment. Ecological education and the formation of an ecological way of thinking begin at an early age, so the role of educational organizations at all levels of acquiring knowledge is very important, regardless of whether it is (primary, secondary and higher education). So about any education, it should be known that it is the foundation of the development of civilization itself. The basic principle of environmental education and upbringing is expressed in the requirement that environmental education is not just information about eco-facts, that the knowledge that students acquire is only at the level of information , but that the whole life in educational institutions be in compliance with environmental requirements. However, there is a problem that people are less aware of the consequences of endangering and polluting the environment, so there is a lot of talk about environmental awareness, but also about education and eco-education. The so-called innovative age recorded the growth of eco-problems due to the development of modern technologies at the end of the XX and XXI. century. Eco-education aims to raise the eco-awareness of individuals towards the environment and natural resources. Therefore, the task of upbringing and education is to encourage knowledge, so that the generations that mature and who are in full activity to solve the problems of the human environment have some systematized knowledge about modern human problems, the nature and essence of the danger disturbed ecological balance
