COMMENTS ON THE CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF SOLID TRICHLOROFLUOROMETHANE

A neutron powder-diffraction profile of solid trichlorofluoromethane was obtained at 85 K. Analysis of the profile reveals a structure consistent with that previously reported at 1.5 K. This unique packing for a crystal composed of CXY3 molecules provides the explanation for earlier magnetic-resonance results.
