PbS nanocrystals in microstructured fibers: Peculiarities of synthesis and optical properties

2015
The results are presented on an investigation into the peculiarities of the lead sulfide (PbS) nanocrystal formation in a glass matrix under different temperature regimes based on an analysis of absorption and luminescence spectra in the near-infrared region. The possibility of controlled synthesis of such particles in optical fibers is shown. The effective sensitization of the liquid medium is demonstrated using proposed and fabricated microstructured fiber containing PbS nanocrystals as an example, which could be used either as a microcuvette or a broadband infrared source.
