Rotational structures in sup 181,182,183 Ir

Rotational bands in the odd-odd nucleus {sup 182}Ir and in the odd-mass isotopes {sup 181,183}Ir have been studied via the fusion-evaporation reactions {sup 172,174}Yb({sup 14}N,{ital xn}) utilizing {gamma}-ray spectroscopy techniques. The different band structures in {sup 182}Ir are interpreted as specific couplings of proton and neutron single-quasiparticles present in neighboring odd Ir and Os and Pt nuclei.
