The localization of the nerve growth guidance cue Slit mRNA in human fetal spinal cord

Objective In order to explore the localization of the nerve growth guidance cue Slit mRNA in human fetal spinal cord.Methods The localization of Slit mRNA in human fetal spinal cord was examined by in situ hybridization with digoxigenin-labelled cRNA probes.Results Slit gene was expressed in central canal,anterior horn and posterior horn.Conclusion Slit might play an important role in the axonal pathfinding and neural network formation in human fetal spinal cord development.
