Comparative assessment of the surface composition and shape of the dental implant and the results of energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy

2019
In the implantology of recent years, great importance is attached to the primary stability of dental implants, which allows the implementation of early functional load protocols that facilitate the life of the patient and optimize the integration process. To increase the primary stability, various methods are used to modify the surface of the implant. In our work, we present a review of the main literature data on dental implants of three companies: AstraTech, Thommen and Konmet, modern ideas about the biomechanics of implants, as well as the results of our X-ray spectroscopic study of the implant surfaces produced by these companies. Based on the data obtained, we analyzed the relationships between their structure and properties.
