Design and Research on Key Components of a Novel Self-Propelled Chili Pepper Harvester

In this paper, a novel self-propelled chili pepper harvester is proposed. The chili pepper harvester consists of picking device, cleaning device, transmission system, re-picking device, collection bin, etc. The structural features, working principle and key components' design of the chili pepper harvester are introduced in the article. The chili pepper harvester is manufactured and assembled. Many field tests are conducted by the prototype chili pepper harvester. According to these test results, the picking rate is 99.15%, the total loss rate is 5.15%, and the damaged rate is 3.22%. The main performance parameters have been reached the design requirement.
