Method: a longitudinal and prospective intervention study was conducted with the aim of characterizing the evolution of patients from 5 to 18 years old in Pinar del Rio (N = 95), the patients suffering from vascular headache were referred to the Neurology Clinic at Pepe Portilla Children Provincial Teaching Hospital between January 2013 -November 2014 two treatment groups were chosen at random, taking for each case (Group I), two controls (Group II). Group I underwent homeopathic treatment and Group II followed the established protocols of treatment. Descriptive methods for the summary of variables were used. Results: the age bracket included in the study group was comprised of children from12 to 18 (75.7%), and (74.1%) in the control. Photophobia and phonophobia were the most representative symptoms in both groups. Right lateralization had an incidence of 60% in both groups. They presented family history of headaches, 22 children of the study group (66.6%), and 44 from the control group (70.9%). Good progress was observed during the study in Group-I where at a year of treatment 97.0% of the cases included in the study group showed good progress; meanwhile only 73.0% of the cases in the control group had good evolution. Conclusion: Homeopathy is a useful therapeutic modality in the treatment of vascular headache in children.
