Use of Oral Hypoglycemic Drugs in Guangdong Area Between 2001 and 2005

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the status quo and developmental trend of the use of oral hypoglycemic drugs in guangdong area.METHODS: The drug kinds,consumption sum,DDDs,DDC etc of the oral hypoglycemic drugs used in guangdong area from 2001 to 2005 were statistically analyzed.RESULTS: The mean annual increasing rate of the consumption sum of the oral hypoglycemic drugs reached as high as 26.41%;metformin remained at the first place in DDDs and kept increasing year by year.CONCLUSION: The use of oral hypoglycemic drugs in guangdong area is reasonable,and the consumption of which has been on the rise.
