An optimization Method for Active Power Sensitivity Analysis

2018
Sensitivity analysis is a classical method for power network analysis, which is widely used in static security analysis of power system. However, the conventional sensitivity analysis method is based on the linearization of power flow equation, assuming that the variation of control variables would continue working on power system until reaching a new steady-state operating point. It neglects the quasi-steady-state physical response of power equipment to various control operations, so it is not suitable for the real-time control strategy of a power grid. Based on the actual active power sensitivity analysis of a large power grid, this paper deems that the quasi-steady-state response of power systems must be taken into account, dividing the variation of control variables into initial variation and final variation but only the final variation could act on the new steady-state operating point. As a result, a practical active power sensitivity analysis optimization method was developed which can meet the demand of real-time online control strategy. It has been applied to several dispatching control centers.
