A RESOLUÇÃO DE UM PROBLEMA: SOLUÇÕES ALTERNATIVAS E VARIAÇÕES NA FORMULAÇÃO THE RESOLUTION BY ONE WHOLE QUESTION: ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS AND VARIANCES AT THE FORMULATIONS

In this study, we used a method proposed by Polya (1978) for solving problems. In his book, The art of solving problems, Polya (1978) outlined his method by dividing it into four steps: understanding the problem, formulate a strategy, strategy implementation and review of the solution. We applied the procedure proposed by Polya (1978) for solving a problem with an emphasis on obtaining alternative solutions. Later, when making changes in its formulation, resolved the problem with the conditions introduced. The purpose of the application has been exercise the methodology of problem solving and relate dif ferent ideas and strategies in solving the problem in this work. With this research, the area of Mathematics Education, concluded that aspects developed here can ser ve as a single contribution to the improvement of teaching and learning of some content of basic education and to illustrate one application of the limit.
