Improved visualization of myocardial function and morphology by 3D fusion of TL-201 stress and rest SPECT studies with biplane angiograms

1991
The aim of this study was to support the clinical routine and to optimize clinical treatment planning by integrated visualization of stress and rest Tl 201 single-photon-emission computed tomography (SPECT) studies. An integrated imaging of SPECT and biplane angiograms can improve the visualization of myocardial function and morphology. By comparing stress and rest studies myocardial scintigraphy allows the evaluation of myocardial viability. In addition, the results of angiographic examinations must be considered. The authors demonstrate a way in which the diagnostician can concentrate on relevant aspects of these examinations. Three dimensional reconstruction techniques applied to scintigraphic and angiographic examinations are the basis for an improved visualization of myocardial function and morphology. >
