Una visión general del terrorismo en Indonesia

Cuando se analiza este fenomeno es importante entender las causas de esos actos violentos observando la influencia y el modus operandi de varios grupos terroristas que han atentado (o se encuentran operativos) en Indonesia. En concreto, este articulo analizara las raices de Jemaah Islamiyah, Jemaah Ansharut Tauhid, Laskar Jihad, Muyahidines Indonesia Timor Oriental, asi como el reciente intento de DAESH de establecer un punto de apoyo en Indonesia. Solo mirando a este numero considerable de grupos radicales es posible entender las causas historicas, religiosas y culturales detras de este ultimo, asi como evaluar de manera realista si el terrorismo islamico puede ser un factor de inestabilidad estrategica para el gobierno indonesio. EnglishIslamic extremist has plagued Indonesia over the last decades. As one addresses this phenomenon it is important to understand the causes behind those violent acts by looking at the influences and modus operandi of several terrorist groups that have operated (or currently do) in Indonesia. Specifically, this article will analyze the roots of Jemaah Islamiyah, Jamaah Ansharut Tauhid, Laskar Jihad, Mujahidin Indonesia Timur as well as the recent ISIS attempt of establishing a foothold in Indonesia. Only by looking at a considerable group of terrorist movements, it is then possible to understand the historical, religious and cultural causes behind the latter as well as realistically assess if terrorism can be a strategic instability factor for the Indonesian government.
