Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide. It remains a disease with an unclear and complex underlying pathophysiology. Intraocular pressure has been regarded as the main modifiable risk factor in the prevalence, incidence and progression of glaucoma. Chapter summaries the impact of intraocular pressure on glaucomatous optic neuropathy.
