Sub- And Super-Synchronous Oscillation Analysis of Hami Renewable Energy Bases in Xinjiang Power Grid

2019
This paper aims at investigating the sub- and super-synchronous oscillation problems appeared in Hami renewable energy bases of the Xinjiang power grid, China. Firstly, the structure of Hami renewable energy bases are introduced. Then, three oscillation analysis methods are illustrated and compared, including the time-domain state-space analysis method, the frequency-domain impedance analysis method and the s-domain nodal admittance matrix analysis method. Finally, the sub- and super-synchronous oscillation problems in Hami renewable energy bases are analyzed based on the s-domain nodal admittance matrix analysis method, and the results are verified by the frequency scanning method. The results indicate that there exists certain oscillation instability risk in the renewable energy bases, and the wind farms have an important influence on it.
