Diagnostic imaging of breast cancer
2007
: Diagnostic work up in the case of suspected breast cancer is often a multimodality and multidisciplinary task. Breast imaging with x-ray, ultrasound and MRI at high quality level is essential in the evaluation of a breast lump. Combined with image-guided needle biopsies, it places the radiologist in a central position to participate actively in the evaluation. For reasons of quality this should be done in collaboration with surgeons and pathologists. The quality must comply with national and European recommendations.
