A 3-D Quality Control System For Foundation Construction

2004
Current quality control systems for foundation constructions are specification-based and in lack of holistic view. Piles and columns by the deep mixing method soil stabilization, for example, are controlled in terms of specified items available only for single pile or column. And no attention has been paid to the total control conditions or dispersion of control values. The present 3-D Quality Control System can control a group of piles or columns in an entire site on the basis of the Construction Information System. The authors executed a quality control of a ground improvement (deep mixed soil stabilization method). It was proven that the proposed system was very useful for the estimation of the reliability and stability of construction.
