Bending the conventional rules when treating the ultra-Orthodox in the group setting.

The uniqueness of the ultra-Orthodox Chassidic Jew presents a challenge to the therapist attempting to counsel this population within the group setting. Idiosyncracies of this religious culture highlight the difficulties in prescribing to conventional methodology of group composition and treatment. Proper group composition with an appropriate leader can contribute to the success of group treatment for this population. Suggestions for structuring the group, in consideration of the sensitivities and needs of these members, are presented
