Hernias más frecuentes de la pared abdominal

2007
Title: The most common abdominal wall hernias Currently, abdominal wall hernias are the conditions most frequently treated in a pediatric ambulatory surgery unit. For this reason, in this paper, we proposed to provide a detailed report of the clinical data, surgical management and the treatment protocol associated with this surgical entity for pediatricians and general practitioners. We include indirect inguinal hernia, umbilical hernia, ventral hernia, femoral hernia and, finally, Spiegelian hernia. The surgical exploration of the contralateral side in inguinal hernia and the special case of premature infants, because of the increased probability of postoperative apneas, seem to be the major points of controversy with respect to these entities. We have reviewed the literature extensively and the experience of our hospital over the last 35 years.
