Investigation the High Photocatalytic Activity of Magnetically Separable Graphene Oxide Modified BiOBr Nanocomposites for Degradation of Organic Pollutants and Antibiotic

2019
Novel visible-light-driven CoFe2O4–rGO–BiOBr magnetic composites were successfully synthesized by a facile hydrothermal method. The as-prepared nanomaterial was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), UV–visible diffuse reflectance (UV–vis DRS) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The photocatalytic degradation experiments indicate that 0.3 CoFe2O4–rGO–BiOBr had the best photocatalytic activity. The results of PL, EIS and free radical trap experiments demonstrate the improvement of photocatalytic performance of composite materials due to the formation of heterojunction between CoFe2O4 and BiOBr, the introduced GO accelerates electron conduction and effectively separates photogenerated electrons and holes. Additionally, the cyclic test and magnetic separation properties show that the CoFe2O4–rGO–BiOBr hybrid materials have the stable degradation ability during the photodegradation process. The unique heterojunction photocatalytic material is promising for the practical applications in remove organic pollutants to manage the environment.
