Palatal Fistulas and Repair

There are two main indications of cleft palate repair: creation of a barrier between nasal & oral cavities and good speech production. Palatal fistula is an abnormal communication (after cleft palate repair) between nasal and oral cavities. It may start from the anterior hard palate to the soft palate or even within the uvula.
