Improvement of Fuel Consumption of Turbo Charged Diesel Engine Fueled with DME

2012
Past research has shown that the trade-off of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and carbon dioxide (CO2) emission from diesel engine fueled with dimethyl ether (DME) is improved by setting an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system to Low Pressure Loop. This paper further investigates low fuel consumption and emission of DME diesel engine, the influences of change of compression ratio, nozzle diameter and chamber shape on engine performance and emission characteristics.
