Research progress in the degeneration of MEA materials for PEMFC

The degeneration behavior,degradation mechanism and effect factors of membrane electrode assembly materials in proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFC) were reviewed.The main reason of the degeneration of membrane was the decomposition of the polymer chains which resulted in the decreasing of the conductivity and the increasing of gas crossover.The degeneration of the catalyst layer could be contributed to the corrosion of the carbon support and Pt electromigration.
