Estudios de familia: experiencias investigativas

This study was carried out in the municipality of San Carlos, Antioquia; it is located in the Embalses subregion, which also includes El Penol, Guatape, San Rafael, Granada, Concepcion and Alejandria. In this sub-region are located the reservoirs and part of the hydroelectric power plants, from which much of the country's energy is generated. In addition to being the tourist pole of Oriente Antioquia, due to its variety of climates and soils, it is also a producer of fruits, medicinal plants, flowers and livestock, among other products that supply the region (United Nations Development Program [UNDP], 2011, p. 25). The area's rich water resources, different climates and strategic location location have served, since the 1980s, as "corridors of mobility that facilitated the expansion of guerrilla groups expansion of guerrilla groups, allowing them to control natural resources, leaving a long road of displacements, massacres and disappearances" (Asociacion de Personeros del Oriente Antioqueno, 2011-2012, pp. 28-29).
