Synthesis of vitamin E acetate and its application in cigarette

Vitamin E acetate was synthesized from vitamin E and acetic anhydride.The purity of vitamin E was assured as 98% by HPLC and structure was identified by 1H NMR,13C NMR and EI-MS.Vitamin E acetate was added to Virginia type cigarettes,the smoke analysis showed the vitamin E acetate can increase vitamin E in mainstream cigarette smoke,and the smoke panel test showed the vitamin E acetate can decrease the stimulation and harshness of cigarette smoke,improve the mild taste and quality of cigarette smoke and increase smoother body sensation.
