Communist International and the Military Struggle of the Central Soviet Area

2015
The military struggle of the Central Soviet Area was conducted under the direct leadership of Communist International and its representative in China. Many of their suggestions on military affairs were correct and promoted the development of military struggle in the soviet area, but some of them did not conform to the actual situation and severely disturbed the military action of the soviet area. They opposed Mao Zedong's strategy and tactics and terminated Mao's leadership position in the Red Army, but meanwhile had no choice but to accept Mao's military tactics and sought to establish a good relationship with Mao. Communist International appointed Otto Braun military advisor for the CPC,who then took the military command in the Central Soviet Area. Otto Braun should assume inescapable responsibility for the failure of "Fujian Incident",and his wrong military strategy and command was the main cause that led to the failure of the Fifth Counter- encirclement Campaign. Otto Braun's faults were severely criticized and thoroughly squared up in the Zunyi Meeting.
