Lesion of the brachial plexus by traumatic false aneurysm of the axillary artery (Report of one case)

The indirect lesion of the brachial plexus by a traumatic false aneurysm of the axillary artery is a rare event. Clinical signs, diagnosis and follow-up of one patient is reported. Characteristic symptoms are severe causalgic pain and progredient neurologic deficits. At operation, excision of the false aneurysm, repair of the artery and neurolysis of the whole plexus was performed. This patient had early return of sensation and gradual return of motor function in follow-up examinations.
