Probability Analyses of Initiation Reliability of Electric Caps in Blasting Circuit

2008
The initiation reliability of an electric blasting circuit is analyzed with probability theory based on the normal probability distribution of electric resistant of caps and the condition of initiating reliably all the electric caps in a series circuit, and the effects of electric resistant deviation of caps in a blasting circuit, the electric current going through the cap,and the number of detonating points in an explosive charge are discussed. The results show that the decrease of the deviation of electric resistant of caps in a blasting circuit,or increase of the electric current through the cap,and or adding the number of detonating points in an explosive charge is helpful to improve the reliability and probability of an electric blasting circuit, and that one of these methods is effective only in limited conditions, and that it is the easy and effective operation to use all of these three methods reasonably for improving the reliability of an electric blasting circuit.
