Research on the Improved Topology and Control Strategy of H3IMC Under Unbalanced Load in Reverse Operation

Hybrid active third-harmonic injection matrix converter (H3IMC) operates with unbalanced load in reverse direction, the load voltage will be distorted and asymmetric, which can not be solved by traditional topology and control strategy. This paper improves the topology to ensure the load zero sequence current flow path. And a reverse operation control strategy suitable for the improved topology is proposed, which can effectively suppress the load voltage distortion and ensure the sinusoidal symmetry of the three-phase load voltage when the load is unbalanced. Experimental results verify the effectiveness of the improved topology and the proposed control strategy.
