Method and apparatus for operating a positioning element having a brushless electric motor

The invention relates to a positioning element system (1), in particular for operating a valve in a motor vehicle, comprising: - a drive (4) with an electronically commutated electric motor, - a movable actuator (6); - a mechanism (5) that couples the drive to the actuator (6), so that an adjustment of the actuator is effected when driving of the drive; - a position sensor (7) for detecting a position of the actuator (6) to the actuator (6) and for providing a corresponding position indication; - a control unit (3) to control the drive for moving the actuator (6); wherein the electric motor of the drive (4) is electronically commutated, wherein the control unit (3) is adapted to provide for moving the actuator (6) from the provided position information-dependent control signals to the electric motor, a predetermined drive torque or a predetermined rotational speed of the cause the electric motor.
