Sri Lanka is an agricultural country with a plantation economy, producing tea, rubber, coconut and rice. It prospers the agricultural products and garment processing industries but is weak in the industrial sector. Under the economic liberalization policy in recent years, its economy has maintained a medium growth rate and a good momentum of development.
