A real time data visualization and analysis environment, scientific data management of large weather radar archives

Abstract This paper presents the DLR-TOOLKIT software environment designed to process polarimetric and Doppler weather radar data of POLDIRAD. In addition it integrates BISTATIC Doppler radar wind data. The large amount of information and radar-meteorological moments generated by the multi-polarization Doppler radar in conjunction with the bistatic radar receivers represents a great challenge for data processing with respect to performance and data quantity.
