Analysis by homogenization theory and experimental research of linear accelerator collinear load coating

2008
In order to miniaturize irradiation accelerator, a new microwave-absorbing structure - collinear load, instead of traditional waveguide load, is adopted to absorb remnant microwave power. Collinear load depends on the film conglutinated on walls of accelerating cavities by flame spraying process and so on. To research on the properties of the alloy thermal-spraying coating, homogenization theory and finite element method are used to estimate the equivalent nature (such as modulus of elasticity, coefficient of thermal expansion and thermal conductivity, etc.) Some experimental tests are done to measure these physical properties. Both have a good consistency. The result has been applied to a practical accelerator structure.
