Relación entre la innovación y la competitividad en mipymes del sector hotelero de Cartagena

2020
The central object of this research was to establish the possible associations between innovation and competitiveness for Mipymes hotels in Cartagena, using the theoretical references of Schumpeter (1934), Luecke & Ralph (2003), Wang & Ahmed (2004) Formichella (2005), O'Regan, Ghobadian & Gallear (2005, Varela (2009), Hjalager (2014), Zabaleta, Brito & Garzon (2015), Ionescu & Dumitru (2015). For this purpose, an investigation was carried out Descriptive type, and with a quantitative approach The population under study was made up of Cartagena hotels, considering the MSMEs as the universe, for which a sample of 85 hotels was established. As an instrument, the survey technique was used through a questionnaire of questions, structured by a 5-point Likert-type scale for a survey of 52 multiple-choice selection items (from totally agree to totally disagree). The results obtained indicate that the business competitiveness factors present in the Mipyme hotels in Cartagena are innovation, investment in training and development; thus, even the creation of value and differentiation are factors that contribute to competitiveness and business dynamism. It is necessary to adjust fiscal and tax policies in the future, in relation to the particular characteristics of the hotel sector, which depend to a great extent on the dynamics of the tourism sector, which is cyclical by nature and subject to seasonality. Similarly, a greater commitment from the hotel sector is required, aimed at developing a culture of innovation, which allows, from all levels, the appropriation and development of innovative capabilities that contribute to raising levels of competitiveness. of each hotel, but also of the sector as a whole
