Kartirajoči stroji: transformacije peterburškega teksta

2017
This paper outlines the ideas and initial results of the literary cartography projectMapping St Petersburg”. It explores the digital impetus behind the current “spatial turn” in the humanities, and the relationship between literature and place, to ask what mapping can say about fictional texts. Examples from Dostoevsky’s  Crime and Punishment  show the potential of creating maps as thought experiments for analysis.
