On the Time Dependences of the Fracture Concentration Parameter Estimated by Different Methods

2021
The time dependences of the fracture concentration parameter characterizing the process of accumulation of defects formed in loaded objects, i.e., steel specimens in laboratory experiments and in the source zone of a strong earthquake, are obtained. When structural steel specimens are under tension, the fracture concentration parameter is estimated by the number and length of microcracks (kc) and by the number and energy of acoustic emission signals (kae). In analyzing the seismicity, the parameter ksf was determined from the flow of seismic events recorded during long-term monitoring of the seismicity in the source zone of one of the strong Kamchatka earthquakes. It has been established that the time dependences of the concentration parameters obtained in laboratory experiments on metal samples and under the conditions of a real seismically active region correspond to the power-law relationship.
