Development and Application of Full-Folding Optical Potentials

The problem of describing nucleon-nucleus (NA) elastic scattering in a non-relativistic framework, starting from a realistic nucleon-nucleon (NN) force, has received considerable attention during the last few years. 1–6 The standard approach7 is to reduce the (A+1)-body problem to a one-body problem where an average nuclear field, the optical potential, correctly describes the properties of the elastic channel. Thus, the primary focus is on the calculation of the nucleon-nucleus optical potential.
