SUMMARYThe starting point for a discussion of intelligence is a general theory of the individual. Such a theory considers the individual as a dynamic and transformable entity. Various processes are built up in a hierarchical way, largely according to Piaget's view on the development and structure of the intellectual functions. Higher processes are made up of processes already existing at a lower level. Such hierarchically ordered processes are observable for as well cognition, emotion, motivation, perception as various functions of the personality.This model may be described in terms of a system theory supplemented with cybernetics and information theory.In applying this theory of the individual, five parameters in a model of intelligence are obtained: LEA = learning, creativity (learning)FLE = flexibilityENC = generality in coding of information (encoding)SPE = process speed (speed)ACC = access to stored processesThe model of intelligence thus established leads to a critique of the measurement of intelli...
