Therapeutic Management of Mastitis in a Bitch

A bitch presented with swelled mammary glands, disallowing suckling and inappetance since last 3 days. Clinical and bacteriological examinations confirmed mastitis caused by Bacillus spp. Antibiotic sensitivity test revealed strong sensitivity to Ceftriaxone and Tazobactum (CIT) and Amikacin (AK). The bitch was successfully treated using Ceftriaxone and Tazobactum along with Amikacin.
