Experimental study and multilevel modeling of effective properties of polyphenylene sulfide based 3-component composites
2019
Mechanical and tribological properties under dry sliding friction of polyphenylene sulfide based composites filled with carbon fibers of various dimensions are investigated. The joint analysis of experimental results together with data of computational experiments allows one to make more substantiated conclusions about the influence of structural features of the composites onto their effective properties. For numerical simulation on the effective properties of highly filled composites, the method of gradual matrix filling was employed. The latter allows one to estimate the required optimum degree of filling. Comparison of the obtained results with the experimental data testifies for the correctness of the developed approach when it is applied to determine the properties of highly filled polymer PPS based composites.
