Walking interconnections: Walking in someone else's shoes

2014
'Walking Interconnections' is a research project that worked in the Bristol region from 2013 – 2014 using walking, conversation and creative activities as methods to trigger communication between self-identified disabled people and sustainability practitioners, to facilitate an exchange of knowledge and insights into different experiences in and of the world. It recognised and responded to the fact that disabled people’s voices have been largely absent from resilience debates. Disabled people have unique contributions to help build resilient societies and communities. The conversations they held whilst walking were recorded and edited into a play, Going for a Walk. ‘Walking in someone else’s shoes’ offers you the chance to take a guided walk, while listening to the play, followed by a discussion over tea and cake.
