Purely quasi-molecular radiation in the Hg-inert gas atom collisions

The work deals with the experimental and theoretical investigation of spectra produced by collisions of metastable Hg(3P2) atoms with rare gas atoms. Potential energy curves as well as radiation widths are calculated on the basis of semiempirical approach, spectra are estimated in the frame of quasistatical approximation. The results are in a reasonable agreement with experimental data obtained on collisions with Kr, Xe atoms.
