Preparation of Cu_2S nanoflowers and its photocatalytic characterization

Cu2S nanostructures were synthesizedby a polyol process at high temperature using Cu(CH3COO)2·H2O and Thioures(CH4N2S) or Thioacelamide(TAA) as precuresors and diethylene glycol as both solvent and reducing agent.The structure of Cu2S crystal was characterized with XRD,SEM,HRTEM and BET.The result shows that the as-compound is pure flower-like and nanoparticle Cu2S crystal.The peculiar morphology of flower-like Cu2S make it possess a excellent photocatalytic activity.The degradation efficiency of Dye Brillant Red under visible light can be up to 67.2%.
