Treatment of upper eyelid cutis laxa with eyebrow ptosis by lifting eyebrow through the double eyelid incision approach

Objective To introduce a method for the treatment of upper eyelid cutis laxa with eyebrow ptosis through the double eyelid incision approach. Methods Through double eyelid incision,we dissected between the orbicularis oculi muscle and the orbital septum,reached the inferior margin of eyebrow,then the disseetion was performed between frontalis muscle and eyebrow fat pad uptoward to the upper rim of the eyebrow,then the orbicularis oculi muscle was lifted and fixed onto the periosteum of the eyebrow bone,the eyebrow was fixed to an ideal position. Results Followed-up from 1 week to 1 year,fifteen patients show satisfactory effects,the eyebrows were situated in ideal position with the youngful appearance of the upper eyelids and there were no complications. Conclusion Satisfactory effects can be achieved by this operation of lifting and fixing eyebrows through the double eyelid incision.
