Intensifier Solid-State Detector for Light Pulse Barycenter Reconstruction

1986
Publisher Summary A position-sensing detector employing continuous resistive electrodes as charge dividers have been extensively described in the past. A few years ago, two-dimensional position localizers were incorporated in electronic tubes for the purpose of gamma scintigraphy in nuclear medicine. Starting from the performances of the position-sensing diode taken as a separate device, the detection characteristics are also described as this component is successively incorporated in an electronic tube and an additional microchannel plate (MCP) intensifier stage is added. A solid-state localizer tube is an electronic-imaging device designed to measure, localize, and count light pulses by converting them into four electric signals. It is from these results that the barycenter is computed.
