A STUDY OF ESTIMATE OF VEHICLE VIBRATIONS BY TRACK IRREGULARITIES

1994
On Shikansen lines, maintenance works with 40m-chord method haven been done. These activities contribute to better riding comfort, but this method is not always suitable. In some cases, it overestimates track irregularity from viewpoint of riding comfort. To solve this problem, a new track maintenance method is being developed. This new method uses the information of vehicle vibration estimated by track irregularity. To estimate vehicle vibration, two methods are applied. One is computer simulation with the use of a vehicle dynamic model, and the other is application of impulse response between actual track irregularity and actual vehicle vibration.
