Analysis of Influencing Factors of Power Line Channel Characteristics

2020
In the study of the characteristics of power line channels, there are few studies on the performance of power line carriers with regard to system structure and network parameters. Multipath effects and frequency selective fading are difficult to be reasonably explained from existing models, which restricts the performance of power line communication carriers. Based on this, the power line channel is modeled using the method of transmission line theory and the effects of system structure and network parameters on the channel voltage amplitude frequency characteristics and network input impedance characteristics are simulated and analyzed. The analysis found that the position of the signal attenuation peaks and valleys is less affected by the length of the main line while the branch line length affects the number of signal attenuation peaks and valleys in the same frequency band. In addition, at the attenuation peak frequency corresponding to the amplitudefrequency characteristic of the channel voltage transmission, the values of the network input impedance are equal. The research in this paper has important theoretical significance and practical value for the application of power line communication technology in Smart Grid and Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things.
