Análise da qualidade das prescrições médicas em Montes Claros - Minas Gerais

Introduction: Medical prescription is the form of information and guidance and failure in this can generate doubts and harm the patient's health. Methodology: The present study evaluated the profile of 589 medical prescriptions during a period of 06 months in two drugstores in Montes Claros - MG, mainly observing their legality. Eleven variables were evaluated: identification of the prescriber, identification of the patient, dosage, type of prescription, number of medications per prescription, range of doses, guidelines, signature and medical stamp. The collection was performed by the simple random sampling system, which were submitted to analysis and compared with the literature on the subject. Results: In the 510 legal prescriptions, 504 (98.8%) contained the prescriber's signature, 496 (97.2%), the CRM registration number and 399 (78.2%) the address. Regarding the patient's data, 509 (99.8%) presented the name and only 09 (1.76%) the address. Conclusion: It is relevant that strategies are established that aim to offer guidelines considering the level of understanding of individual users, which can be achieved with the creation of the Pharmaceutical Attention Service and continuing education of physicians.
