Effects of Different Bio-organic Fertilizer Application Rates on Controlling Bitter Gourd Fusarium Wilt , Soil Microorganisms and Enzyme Activities

2013
The pot experiment was conducted by using the bio-organic fertilizer(BOF)made by mixing the mature compost with functional bacteria to study the effects of different applying quantity of bio-organic fertilizer on controlling bitter gourd(Momordica charantia L.)Fusarium wilt and on soil microorganisms and enzyme activities. The results indicated that the occurrence of bit- ter gourd Fusarium wilt was decreased significantly by applying BOF.The disease-control effects of the 3 BOF treatments reached 22.21%,38.91% and 44.45%,respectively,when the diseasecontrol effect of CF was 0. With the same effective nutrient, the plant stem diameter, leaf length and leaf width, and plant dry weight under BOF2 treatment were significantly higher than that of CF treatment, with remarkable growth stimulating effect. The number of bacterium and actinomycesin soil were increased by BOF,while the amount of fungi and Fusarium oxysporum in soil were reduced evidently.Application of BOF could increase the activities of soil urease, phosphatase and invertase, which were higher than those of CF treatment. But the change of catalase was uncertain. The results showed that BOF could improve soil microbial flora and enhance soil enzyme activity, improve soil environment condition, and prevent the occurrence of Fusarium wilt.
