MODEL REDUCTION FOR COUPLED AND NONLINEAR PDE SETS UNDER DIRICHL¶ ET BOUNDARY EXCITATIONS

Solutions of most Partial Difierential Equa- tions (PDEs) are dominated by coherent modes that can be extracted through the use of decomposition techniques. This paper focuses on a benchmark example for low dimensional modeling, named 2D Burgers ∞ow. The boundary excita- tions are Dirichltype and the technique results in a re- duced order model of the inflnite dimensional process. The issues in∞uencing the performance are discussed and it is seen that the results obtained from the low order model are compliant with the desired results.
